If you have a surfskate under your feet, you've probably already realized that it's much more than just hopping on a board and letting yourself go. For your training on asphalt to translate into real improvement, you need technique, weight transfer, and a deep understanding of your own biomechanics.

In this article, we won't be talking about unrealistic tricks to try on your first day on the board. We're going to meticulously dissect the fundamental movements with critical precision.

1. Posture is Fundamental

Posture is fundamental and determines your fluidity when riding the board. The most common mistake beginners make is adopting a rigid stance, known in surfing as the "poo stance" (a forward squatting position). This blocks the rotation of your upper body and eliminates any possibility of fluidity.

Here, we'll guide you step-by-step to adopting the stance of a pro:

- First, your front foot should be positioned just behind the front truck bolts, slightly diagonally. The back foot goes on the tail, in the concave part, perpendicular to the board.
